Maybe you’re like me, and you use your hair as a canvas for art, constantly dying it whatever color feels right at the moment (AKA your hair is a tad bit, well, over processed). Maybe your hair just frizzes naturally. Whatever the reason may be, no one particularly loves looking like a french poodle, but who has the money for expensive hair products? The answer is not me. So I went on a little spree to find the best hair products to help bring some life back into my hair without making my bank account look very, very sad.
1. Not Your Mothers Clean Freak Dry Shampoo:
Contrary to my mother’s belief, you actually don’t need to wash your hair every day. Your hair makes natural oils that help keep it healthy and strong. I tend to wash my hair every other day and just wash my body each day (unless a heavy work out occurs, because no one has time for that kind of stink). In the meantime, using a little bit of this dry shampoo helps fight any build up of grease.
Bonus Points: This is also good if you have oily hair and need to touch up between work and going out but don’t have time to completely re-shower.
2. TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Protective Spray:
I know. Styling your hair is bad for it. If I had naturally curly or straight hair, I pretty much almost never would style it. There is no term to describe my hair’s natural texture, however. You know in the beginning of Frozen when Anna wakes up with a cluster of animal-like hair on her head? That’s actually a tame version of how my hair is in the morning. I don’t even understand. So I pretty much style it most days or wear a hat. Fortunately for me, I have this spray. Not only does it protect your hair, but it gives it a nice, soft, shine. It’s almost like I haven’t killed off every follicle!
3. Pantene Weekly Deep Cleanse
Add that I previously mentioned that from time to time I skip washing my hair with the fact that I’m using product daily,my hair eventually gets a good greasy build up. So weekly, I do a little deep cleaning.
Bonus Points: Since you only use this once a week it lasts basically forever.
To finish off my deep cleanse, I’ll do a little deep condition as well. I love this stuff, it really does bring a nice soft flow back to my hair. Same as above, even though this container only 1.9 oz, it will last you a while because you use a small dollop only once a week.
Bonus Points: While you let it sit in your hair, you can take a nice bubble bath (like I need an excuse).
If your hair is on a level of what the actual fuck as mine is, sometimes it’s okay to splurge a little. And if you are going to splurge on anything, let it be Moroccan Oil Products. A .85 fluid ounce bottle of Moroccan Oil is about 15 bucks, so it’s a little steep. Fortunately, you do just need a little drop to work through the ends of your hair and it works it’s magic. So the product will tend to last you quite some time. If you’re feeling extra crazy, their hairspray is absolutely divine (did I just call hairspray divine? YES. It’s that good). I borrow it from my mom from time to time and it holds your hair but it also doesn’t feel like hairspray. I hate crunchy hair. I love this hairspray.
